Project details
Klink Languages is a personal project I built together with product designer Maria (mariajoaoabrantes.work), with a Laravel backend and a React frontend. Its core feature lets you scan a photo or PDF of a vocabulary list: the text is recognised and then automatically structured into word pairs with translation, word type and an example sentence. From those words the system, powered by the Claude API, generates reading stories tailored to the learner's level, plus podcast-style listening clips where the transcript highlights word by word in sync with the audio. For repetition it uses a spaced-repetition algorithm (SM-2) that decides when a word needs to be practised again, and pronunciation can be generated through a choice of speech synthesis services. Subscription payments run through Paddle, and the whole system is managed through a custom admin panel built with Filament.
