What is WCAG color contrast?

WCAG 2.2 AA requires a contrast ratio of at least 4.5:1 between text and background (3:1 for large text and UI components like buttons). Low contrast makes text hard to read for people with low vision or in bright light. This check only covers the measurable side of WCAG — a full accessibility audit also needs manual keyboard and screen reader testing.
