Project details
For agency Catapult, I built the website for Eqwal Ability, a care organization with multiple locations, as a freelance developer. The site runs on WordPress with Advanced Custom Fields, letting editors assemble pages themselves from reusable blocks such as hero sections, content blocks and a vacancy overview. The most distinctive part is the location finder: visitors can search by city, postal code or their own location, switch between map and list view, and instantly see per branch whether it's currently reachable by phone, along with opening hours, contact details and linked services. Addresses are automatically converted to map coordinates on save, and the map itself is built with Leaflet. I also customized forms (via Gravity Forms), search functionality and SEO (via Yoast) for this specific audience, with attention to accessibility and clear communication toward clients.
Result
- Location finder that instantly shows per branch whether it's currently reachable by phone, along with opening hours, contact details and linked services.
- Editors assemble pages themselves from reusable ACF blocks such as hero sections, content blocks and a vacancy overview.
- Addresses are automatically converted to map coordinates on save for the Leaflet map.
Scope
- What I did
- As a freelance developer for Catapult: the WordPress/ACF setup, the location finder (Leaflet, geocoding), forms (Gravity Forms), search functionality and SEO (Yoast).
- What the client did
- Catapult: client ownership and design. Eqwal Ability: content and branch details.
What changed
- For clients: quickly finding the right branch by city, postal code or their own location, with direct reachability info.
- For the editorial team: independently managing content and branches without needing a developer.
